Alright, so I wanted to get a decent setup for Baku in F1 24. It’s a tricky track, right? Long straights, tight corners… you need a car that can handle both.
Getting Started
First, I just jumped into a Time Trial to get a feel for the default setup. Honestly, it was pretty awful. Understeer everywhere, couldn’t get the power down, and felt super slow on the straights.

Tweaking the Aero
My first thought was the wings. I needed more downforce for those corners, but didn’t want to lose too much speed. I bumped up the front wing a bit and lowered the rear. After a few laps, I think that was good and moved on.
Working on the Transmission
Next up, the transmission. I fooled around with both on-throttle and off-throttle differential. Fiddled with it for a good while and test the changes.
Suspension Geometry Changes
Then came the suspension geometry. I always find this part a bit fiddly. I played around with camber and toe. Took a few tries to get it, but eventually, I found a solid setup that worked for my driving.
Adjusting the Suspension
After the geometry, I moved onto the suspension itself. Stiffer springs, softer springs, adjusting the ride height… It’s all about finding that balance, you know? Eventually after many tries and different combinations I landed at a good feel for my driving style.
Brakes, My Old Friend
Brakes are always crucial, especially in Baku with those heavy braking zones. I increased the brake pressure to the max, but I’m used to a pretty responsive brake pedal. Then I shifted the bias a bit forward. Felt much better after that.
Tire Pressures
Last but not least, tire pressures. I usually lower them a bit for better grip. Did the same here, and it seemed to help with traction coming out of the slower corners.
The Final Result
After all that tweaking, the car felt so much better. I was able to push harder in the corners, brake later, and still hit decent top speeds on the straights. My lap times definitely improved, but keep in mind that it is a setup that works for my driving style.
So, yeah, that’s my Baku setup journey. It took some time and a lot of trial and error, but it was worth it. Hope this helps some of you guys out there struggling with this track!
