Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into FF7 Remake lately, and I finally got the “Divine Gratitude” achievement. Man, it was a journey! I wanted to share my experience, ’cause it wasn’t as straightforward as I initially thought.
First, I started by just playing through the game normally. Enjoying the story, you know? I figured I’d pick up side quests as I went along. That was mistake number one! I missed some crucial stuff early on, and I didn’t even realize it until much later.

Getting Started
Then, I hit a wall around Chapter 8. I was trying to do all the Sector 5 Slums quests, and I kept hearing whispers about this mysterious “Angel of the Slums.” I Googled it, and that’s when the rabbit hole opened up. I realized I needed to be much more meticulous.
So, I restarted. Yep, all the way back to the beginning. This time, I made sure to talk to everyone. Every NPC, every random person standing around. I checked every corner, every alleyway. Sounds tedious, right? It kinda was, but it also made me appreciate the world-building so much more.
The Key Moments
- Chapter 2, The Sewers: Talked to the item store owner first before the story moved on.
- Chapter 3: I made absolutely sure to complete all of the side quests in the Sector 7 Slums before moving on with the main story. This is non-negotiable, folks. Don’t be like me the first time!
- Chapter 8: This is where it really ramps up. The “Kids on Patrol” quest is key. I found all five kids (again, thanks Google!), and then made sure to do the “Weapons on a Rampage” quest that follows. The key is, you MUST do them in order.
- The Mysterious Moogle Merchant: found the kid who becomes a merchant.
- Chapter 9: I made sure to do all of them for both madam M and Chocobo sam.
- Chapter 14: This is the big one. You need to have done every single other side quest in the game up to this point. If you’ve done everything right, you’ll get a letter from the Angel.
The Letter!
Getting that letter in Chapter 14 felt so good. It’s not a flashy reward, but it’s the confirmation that you’ve done it all. That you’ve helped everyone you could. I was in the Sector 5, after checking some item in a corner, that cutscene with Kyrie and the letter triggered, and I did a victory, finally done.
So, my advice? Be patient. Be thorough. Talk to everyone. Do every quest. And most importantly, don’t be afraid to use a guide if you get stuck. It’s a rewarding achievement, and it really makes you feel like you’ve connected with the world of FF7 Remake.
