Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at Road to the Show in MLB The Show 24, and I kept wondering, “Can you actually get traded?” I mean, you pour all this time into your player, get attached, you know? So, I decided to put it to the test.
My Experiment Begins
I started a new Road to the Show, created a power-hitting first baseman. My goal? To become a star…and then, hopefully, get shipped off to another team. I played through the minors, crushing it, obviously. Made the All-Star Futures Game, won the MVP, the whole nine yards.

Finally, I got the call-up to the big leagues! I was stoked! Joined the team, started raking, hitting bombs left and right. I even made the All-Star team in my rookie year! I thought for sure, “Okay, I’m untouchable. No way they trade me.”
The Waiting Game
I continued to play, season after season and putting up monster numbers, winning awards. My OVR get higer and higer. I was basically the face of the franchise. Still, no trade. I started to get a little worried. Like, was it even possible? I’d read online that it was, but I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes.
The Trade Deadline Looms
Then, it happened. A few seasons in, right before the trade deadline, my agent called. He said, “Hey, there’s some chatter. Teams are interested.” My heart started racing. Finally!
The Shock
A couple of days later, BAM! I got the news. I was traded! To a rival team, no less! I was honestly a little shocked. I mean, I wanted to get traded, but it still felt weird leaving the team I’d been with for so long.
The Aftermath
So, yeah, you can get traded in Road to the Show 24. It might take a while, and you probably need to be a pretty darn good player, but it definitely happens. Now, I’m off to dominate with my new team…until they decide to trade me again, I guess!
- Step 1: Create a player and play well.
- Step 2: Get to the Majors.
- Step 3: Become a star.
- Step 4: Wait…and wait…and wait.
- Step 5: Get that agent call.
- Step 6: Boom! Traded.
it’s not a quick process, so keep working hard, and good luck with your Road to the Show!
