Alright, so I wanted to get a really good setup for Baku in F1 22. I’ve been messing around with it for a while, and I think I finally nailed down something pretty decent. Let me walk you through what I did.
First, I jumped into Time Trial mode. I figure that’s the best way to really test things out without worrying about other cars or race strategy. Just pure, raw lap time.

Aerodynamics
I started with the aerodynamics. For Baku, it’s all about that straight-line speed, but you can’t completely sacrifice downforce because of those tight corners in the middle sector.
- Front Wing:I ended up with setting it around to 18.
- Rear Wing: I set it to 12.
It made the car stable enough through the corners without making it a total brick on the straights.
Transmission
Next up, transmission. I wanted to optimise for traction out of those slow corners, so that’s were I spent most of the time.
- Differential Adjustment On Throttle: I put this to 55%.
- Differential Adjustment Off Throttle: I put this to 52%.
Suspension Geometry
Then It’s all about maximizing mechanical grip, and tire life.
- Front Camber:I choose -2.50.
- Rear Camber:I choose -1.00.
- Front Toe:I go with 0.05.
- Rear Toe: I go with 0.20.
The car feels a lot more planted when changing the setting of toe.
Suspension
Baku has some bumpy sections, so you can’t go too stiff with the suspension.
- Front Suspension:I go with 3.
- Rear Suspension:I go with 6.
- Front Anti-Roll Bar: I set this to 1.
- Rear Anti-Roll Bar:I set this to 6.
- Front Ride Height:I set this to 3.
- Rear Ride Height:I set this to 7.
It’s a good balance. Feels good over the kerbs and bumps.
Brakes
Brakes are pretty straightforward, but you don’t want to lock up into those tight corners. I normally find a good setting for me is:
- Brake Pressure:100%.
- Front Brake Bias:50%.
So, I kept it simple.
Tyres
Finally, tyres. I wanted to make sure that I could do that without destroying my tires.

- Front Right Tyre Pressure:23.5 psi.
- Front Left Tyre Pressure:23.5 psi.
- Rear Right Tyre Pressure:20.5 psi.
- Rear Left Tyre Pressure:20.5 psi.
It feels pretty good and consistent throughout a race simulation.
So, after tweaking and testing, and tweaking some more, I finally got a setup that felt really good. I was consistently putting in good lap times, and the car felt predictable and responsive. It’s not necessarily the fastest setup in the world, but it works for me and my driving style. And that’s what really matters, right? Finding something that you’re comfortable with and can push to the limit.
Anyway, that’s my Baku setup journey. Give it a try, tweak it to your liking, and let me know how it goes! Maybe it’ll help you shave off a few tenths. Good luck, and have fun on the track!
