Alright, so I wanted to get good at Kabal in Mortal Kombat 3. I’ve always liked his look, you know, the whole messed-up face, hookswords thing. But I could never pull off his moves consistently. So, I decided to really buckle down and learn him properly.
First, I fired up the game. Gotta get that muscle memory going, right? I went straight into practice mode. No point in getting my butt kicked online while I’m still fumbling around.

Figuring out the Basics
- I started with his basic attacks. Just getting a feel for his punches and kicks, you know? How fast they are, how far they reach. Stuff like that.
- Then I moved on to the special moves. This is where things get tricky.
The Special Moves
I spent ages trying to get the timing down for those spins. I’d mess up the sequence, or my fingers would just not cooperate, I finally got the hang of it!
Next, I tried that eye laser thing. It took a lot of practice, to keep the button combinations in right orders. After a couple more hours of practice, it is becoming instintive!
I kept practicing like this for a good few hours. Just repeating the moves over and over again. It’s kinda boring, but you gotta do it if you wanna get good, right? I even wrote down the button combinations on a piece of paper at first, just to make sure I got them right.
Putting it All Together
Once I felt comfortable with the individual moves, I started trying to chain them together. Like, doing a spin, then a dash, then a combo. I was dropping combos left and right at first, but slowly, I started to get the hang of it.
It’s all about timing and anticipation. You gotta know what your opponent is gonna do before they do it. It’s tough, but super satisfying when you pull it off.
I’m still not a Kabal master or anything, but I’m definitely a lot better than I was. I can actually hold my own online now, which is a pretty good feeling. It just goes to show, practice makes perfect, even in video games!
