Alright, let’s talk about something I did 1109 days ago. Man, time flies, doesn’t it? It feels like just yesterday, but also a lifetime ago. I decided I wanted to get my hands dirty with a little personal project.
I started by just brainstorming, you know? What did I want to build? What was I even capable of building? I jotted down a bunch of ideas, most of them pretty terrible, honestly. But hey, you gotta start somewhere, right?
The Idea Takes Shape
After some back and forth, I finally landed on something I thought was achievable and, more importantly, something I was actually interested in. I decided to make a simple application. I won’t bore you with the super technical details.
The Grunt Work Begins
So, I fired up my computer and got to work. The first few days were all about setting things up. Getting the right tools, figuring out the basic structure, and all that jazz. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was necessary.
- Installed the necessary software.
- Figured out the basic file structure.
- Read a bunch of tutorials (some helpful, some not so much).
The Grind
Then came the real work. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I spent hours staring at my screen, typing away, debugging, testing, and then debugging some more. There were times I wanted to throw my computer out the window, not gonna lie. But I kept pushing.
I remember one specific night; I was stuck on a particularly nasty bug. I spent hours trying to figure it out, getting more and more frustrated. Finally, around 3 AM, I found the problem. It was such a small thing, but it was causing all sorts of issues. The feeling of relief (and exhaustion) was incredible.
Finally Finished
Eventually, after a lot of trial and error, I finally finished it. It wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot. But it worked! And I had built it, from start to finish. That feeling of accomplishment was pretty awesome.
Looking back, it was a great learning experience. I learned a ton about, well, lots of things. More importantly, I proved to myself that I could actually see a project through, even when things got tough. So yeah, that’s the story of what I did 1109 days ago. Thanks for listening to my ramblings!
