Alright, so today was all about hitting those Giratina raids in Pokémon GO. I’ve been wanting to get a good one for ages, so I was pretty pumped for this event.
Prepping for Battle
First thing’s first, I had to get my teams ready. I spent some time checking out which Pokémon are the best counters. You know, the usual suspects like Dragonite, Rayquaza, and Garchomp. I made sure they were all powered up and had the right movesets. Gotta maximize that damage output!

I also checked the weather in the game. A windy boost would be great for my Dragon-types, but no such luck. It was partly cloudy, so at least my Fairy-types got a little bump.
The Raids Begin!
Next, I hopped on my local Discord group to see where the raids were popping up. Found a few nearby, grabbed my friend, and we headed out. We joined up with some other players at the first gym – strength in numbers, right?
The first raid was intense! Giratina has some serious attack power, and my Pokémon were taking a beating. We managed to take it down with a decent amount of time left, though. Teamwork makes the dream work!
- Used my best Dragonite first.
- Switched to Garchomp when Dragonite fainted.
- Finished it off with Rayquaza.
Catching That Ghostly Dragon
Now for the most nerve-wracking part: the catch! I used Golden Razz Berries and tried my best to hit those Excellent throws. First one… broke out. Second one… broke out. Third one… YES! Got it!
I ended up doing five raids in total. It was a lot of fun, even though it was pretty tiring running around from gym to gym. Managed a couple of really Good IV ones, but No Shiny or 100% IV was get.
Final Thoughts
Overall, it was a successful raid day. I got a good amount of candy, some decent Giratinas, and had a blast playing with friends and other trainers. Can’t wait for the next raid event!
