Alright, so I decided to take on a Mega Alazam raid today. I’d seen some chatter online about how tough it could be, so I was a little nervous, but mostly excited to give it a shot.
Preparation is Key (Or So I Thought)
First things first, I checked my inventory. Made sure I had a decent stash of Revives and Potions. You never know how these things are gonna go, and I didn’t want to be caught short. Then, I spent some time picking my team. I knew Mega Alakazam is a Psychic-type, so I went heavy on Dark, Ghost, and Bug-types.

- Tyranitar with Bite and Crunch – my trusty powerhouse.
- Gengar with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball – super speedy and hits hard.
- Houndoom with Snarl and Foul Play – another solid Dark-type attacker.
- Scizor with Fury Cutter and X-Scissor – hoping that Bug-type would do some damage.
- Weavile:Use ice and dark.
- Giratina:Use Shadow.
The Raid Battle
I found a Mega Alakazam raid at a nearby gym. Luckily, there were a few other players already there, which was a relief. I jumped into the lobby, and we waited for the countdown.
Once the battle started, it was chaos! Mega Alakazam is FAST. It kept hitting us with these crazy Psychic attacks. My poor Gengar went down pretty quickly, which was a bummer. I switched to Tyranitar, and it managed to hold its own for a bit longer, landing some good Crunch attacks.
The other players were doing their thing, and we were slowly whittling down Mega Alakazam’s health. It felt like it took forever, though. Every time I thought we were close, it would unleash another powerful attack and send another one of my Pokémon packing.
Victory! (Barely)
Finally, with just a few seconds left on the clock, we defeated Mega Alakazam! I was down to my last Pokémon, a slightly battered Scizor, but we did it! I was so pumped! I used more revives that is normal.
After the raid, I quickly catch it.
So, that was my Mega Alakazam raid experience. It was definitely challenging, but super rewarding in the end. I learned a lot,and get a new powerful pokemon!
