Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the Witches Festival in ESO lately, and let me tell you, those writs? They can be a real goldmine… or a total pain. I wanted to share my whole experience, from figuring out what the heck they even were, to finally cranking them out.
What are these “Witches Festival Writs” Anyway?
First off, I had to actually understand what I was dealing with. Basically, these are special crafting quests you can only do during the Witches Festival event. They ask you to make specific food and drinks, and when you turn them in, you get some cool rewards, like festival-themed recipes, furniture, and even experience.
My First Attempt… Ouch.
My first try? A total disaster. I picked up a writ, saw it wanted some weird-sounding dish, and just figured I’d wing it. I ran around, trying to find ingredients, ended up spending way too much gold at a guild trader, and then realized I didn’t even have the right crafting level to make the darn thing! Big mistake. I wasted a bunch of time and gold.
Learning the Ropes (and Recipes!)
So, I took a step back. I did some research, looked up guides,and realized a few key things:
- Get the Recipes First: You absolutely NEED the recipes for the writ items. You can sometimes find them in the reward boxes from the festival, or (more realistically) buy them from guild traders.
- Level Up Your Provisioning: You gotta have your Provisioning skill high enough to actually craft the stuff. No shortcuts here! I spent some time grinding that out, making a ton of basic food and drinks.
- Stock Up on Ingredients: Some of the ingredients are pretty common, but others can be a pain. I found it was best to stock up on everything I could before starting the writs, so I wasn’t running around like a headless chicken later.
The Grind Begins!
Once I had a few recipes and my Provisioning was up to snuff, I started grabbing writs. I’d pick up a bunch at once, then head to my crafting station. It felt like a real assembly line! Flour flying everywhere, stews bubbling… it was chaos, but the good kind.
Crafting one, two three…many of this is so easy, I just need to follow the orders.
Turning in and Getting Paid!
Turning in the writs was the best part. Seeing those reward boxes pop up? So satisfying. I scored some awesome recipes, some spooky furniture for my house, and a decent chunk of experience. Plus, the satisfaction of actually figuring out the whole system was pretty great.
