Okay, so I’ve been messing around with trying to figure out the best mid laners in the current meta. It’s a total jungle out there, and things change so fast, so I figured I’d actually try to make a proper tier list myself instead of just blindly following what the pros do.
First, I started by just playing a bunch of games. Like, a LOT. I jumped into ranked, normals, whatever – just to get a feel for who felt strong, who felt weak, and who was just… meh.

Then I started taking some notes. Nothing fancy, just a simple text file. After each game, I’d jot down the champion I played, who I laned against, and how it went. Did I stomp them? Did they stomp me? Was it a skill matchup? I tried to be honest with myself, even when I got totally destroyed (which, uh, happened more than I’d like to admit).
After I had a decent amount of data, I moved everything into a spreadsheet. It was a bit of a mess at first, but I started organizing it. Columns for champion, win rate, KDA, notes on matchups, that kind of thing. Seeing it all laid out like that really helped me start to see some patterns.
- Some champions, I just consistently did well with, no matter who I was up against.
- Others were super feast or famine – either I’d carry hard, or I’d be completely useless.
- And then there were the champions that I just… couldn’t make work, no matter how hard I tried.
Next, I started actually building the tier list. I decided to go with the classic S, A, B, C, D tiers. “S” being the absolute best, “D” being… well, let’s just say you probably shouldn’t pick them.
It was tough! Putting champions into specific tiers felt really subjective sometimes. Like, is this champion really A-tier, or am I just biased because I had a few good games with them? I kept going back and forth, moving champions around, debating with myself.
My findings
My list is not perfect, no way, and it is only valid for a specific period of time. But, I’ve come to the conclusion of organizing my tier list with all the steps above.
I finally ended up with something that I felt… মোটামুটি okay about. It’s definitely not perfect, and I’m sure other people will disagree with some of my placements. But it’s my tier list, based on my experiences, and that’s what I was going for.
It was a fun little project, and it definitely made me think more critically about the game and the champions I play. Might even keep updating it as the meta shifts. Who knows, maybe I’ll become a tier list expert someday! (Probably not, though.)
