Alright, so I’ve been grinding away at MLB The Show 24, and one thing that kept bugging me was being stuck on a team I didn’t vibe with. So, I went on a mission to figure out this whole trade request thing. Here’s how it went down.
Getting Started in Road to the Show
First things first, I fired up “Road to the Show.” This is where you create your player and, you know, try to make it to the big leagues. I made sure my player was performing pretty well, boosting those stats, because, let’s be real, nobody wants a benchwarmer.

The Waiting Game (and some agent talk)
Now, the tricky part: you can’t just hit a button and demand a trade. It’s not that simple. I played through a good chunk of the season, focusing on my performance. Then, after a while, my player’s agent started popping up in the storyline.
He was like my in-game career guidance counselor.
- He talked about performance, make sure did everything in every single match.
- He sometimes mentioned other teams, saying something like a scout from another team was watching me.
It was all very vague at first. But then finally the agent said, “you may have a chance to request changing your team, are you sure to do that?” YES! I clicked the YES button without a second thought.
Making the Request (Finally!)
After some more storyline stuff with the agent, the option to actually request a trade showed up. It wasn’t just a menu option; it was part of the dialogue with the agent. I think It appeared during a clubhouse interaction scene. I chose the dialogue option that was something like, “I want to be traded.” My player had a little chat with the manager, and boom – I was on the trading block.
The Result
It took a few in-game days, but eventually, I got the news that I was traded! It wasn’t instant, and I had to play a few more games with my old team while the trade was being worked out. But it worked!
So, to sum it up: play well, wait for your agent to bring it up, and then take the opportunity when it comes. It’s not instant, but it’s definitely possible to request a trade in MLB The Show 24. Good luck, and hopefully, you’ll end up on a team you love!
