Okay, so I finally decided to jump into NBA 2K24. I’ve been putting it off, but with the “Start Today” feature, I figured, why not? It’s supposed to let you start a MyNBA career at the actual current date in the real NBA season, with all the real stats and standings. Sounds pretty cool, right?
First, I fired up the game and navigated to the MyNBA mode. I selected the “Start Today” option, obviously. It then asked me to pick a team. I’m a huge Lakers fan, so, naturally, I went with them.
Once I chose my team, the game loaded up all the current data. I checked out the standings, and yep, it was all accurate. The Lakers were where they should be, other teams too, all reflecting how things are in the real league right now.
Getting Started Was Simple!
- Launched NBA 2K24
- Navigated to MyNBA Mode
- Selected “Start Today”
- Picked my team (Lakers, duh!)
Then I started playing around with the roster. I made a few trades, just little tweaks, nothing major. I also adjusted the coaching strategy a bit, trying to find something that felt right. I simulated a few games to see how things would play out, and it felt surprisingly realistic, based on how the actual season has been going.
I haven’t tried to build the team yet, becasue I want to play it as it is.
Honestly, “Start Today” is a great way to dive into a MyNBA career. It feels way more immersive than starting from the beginning of a season that’s already months in the past. It’s like you’re actually taking over a real NBA team in real-time. If you’re an NBA fan and haven’t tried this mode yet, you really should!
