Okay, so the other day I was playing Sea of Thieves, and guess what? My ship got totally stuck. Like, wedged between a rock and a hard place… literally. I was sailing solo, so I couldn’t even ask a crewmate for help. I started to panic a little, figuring I’d lose all my hard-earned loot.
Figuring Out How to get unstuck in Sea of Thieves
First thing I did was try the obvious: I messed with the wheel, spinning it back and forth, hoping to wiggle free. No dice. Then I tried adjusting the sails, thinking maybe the wind could push me out. Nope, still stuck.

I was about to give up and scuttle my ship, then,I thought, “Wait a minute, there’s gotta be a way!” I jumped off the ship to get a better look. And yep, I was seriously wedged between some rocks near an island.
- Tried Cannon Fire: I thought, maybe if I blast the rocks with cannons, I can get unstuck.I fired a few shots, but all I got was some chipped rock and wasted cannonballs.
- Used the Harpoon: My ship has a harpoon, that’s it! I aimed the harpoon at a sturdy-looking part of the island, fired it, and then started reeling it in. The ship groaned and shifted a bit… but it was still stuck.
- Sword Lunges: I’d heard people talking about using sword lunges to get a little extra movement. With nothing to lose, I tried it. Jumped in the water near the rocks, did a few lunges… didn’t do much.
- Tried Gunpowder: I remembered I had a gunpowder barrel on board. It was a long shot, but I grabbed it, placed it carefully near where the ship was stuck, and BOOM! The explosion rocked the ship.
And you know what? It moved! Just enough to get a little wiggle room. I quickly ran back to the wheel, spun it hard, and with a groan of wood, my ship popped free! I was so relieved I could have kissed the deck.
So, the next time you’re stuck in Sea of Thieves, don’t give up hope! Try all options and be patient, you can get free without losing all stuff.
