Okay, so, “falling in animal crossing.” Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong! I wanted to document the whole process of, well, falling on my face in the game. It’s a rite of passage, I guess. So, here’s how it all went down.
The Setup
First, I booted up my Nintendo Switch. You know the drill, wait for the little jingle, and bam, you’re in. Loaded up Animal Crossing, my island tune played (it’s a banger, by the way), and there I was, standing in front of my cute little virtual house.

The Hunt for Bad Luck
Now, I couldn’t just make myself fall. Oh no, it has to be “organic,” you know? So, I remembered reading something about Katrina, the fortune teller, and bad luck days. I’d been avoiding her like the plague because, who needs bad luck? But today, bad luck was my best friend.
I sprinted over to Resident Services, hoping Katrina was there. Luckily, she was! I coughed up the 1,000 Bells for a fortune, and she started doing her whole mystical thing, waving her hands, chanting… the works.
And then, bingo! She told me I was having a day of bad luck with my health. I’m not even sure what “health” means in Animal Crossing terms, but I was ready to take a tumble.
The Fall
Katrina suggested I wear a King Tut mask to ward off the health issues. I do not know where to find this mask, so the bad luck persisted.
So, with my bad luck confirmed, I started running. Just… running. Around my island, dodging trees, weaving through flowers, like a total maniac. I figured the faster I went, the more likely I was to trip.
And then… it happened.
I was zipping past Nook’s Cranny, and my character just… ate it. Full-on faceplant. I swear, I could almost feel the virtual dirt in my teeth. My character laid there for a second, dazed, then slowly got up, brushing themselves off. Classic!
The Aftermath
Honestly, it was hilarious. I took a screenshot, of course, gotta document the moment. And that was it. My grand experiment in falling in Animal Crossing was a success.
It’s the little things, you know? Sometimes, you just gotta embrace the clumsiness, even in a video game. I hope you fall soon! Or, maybe you are luckier than me.
