Alright, so today I wanted to figure out Kingler’s weaknesses in Pokémon GO. I’ve been seeing this big crab around in raids and gyms a lot lately, and honestly, I wanted to crush it!
Getting Started
First, I hopped into the game to get a good look at Kingler. I checked out its type – pure Water. Okay, that’s a solid starting point. I remember from way back that Water types are weak against Electric and Grass. No brainer, right?

My First Attempt
I had a pretty decent Raikou powered up, so I figured I’d just throw that at a Kingler raid and see what happened. I jumped into a raid, picked my Raikou, and started tapping away. The Raikou did some serious damage, but honestly, so many people joined. It was tough to see what’s going on.
Digging Deeper
Next, I went to check what strong Grass-types I had. I’ve got a few good Venusaur with Frenzy Plant, and a pretty beefy Sceptile. I even have a few Roserade with Razor Leaf. So, I felt pretty good about my options there.
Putting It All Together – The Team
I figured, why not put together a team that’s specifically designed to take down Kingler? Here’s what I ended up with:
- Raikou: It’s just a powerhouse. Thunder Shock and Wild Charge – bye-bye, Kingler!
- Venusaur: Double Grass moves with Vine Whip and Frenzy Plant, makes it a solid choice.
- Sceptile: Same deal as Venusaur – Fury Cutter and Frenzy Plant do great damage.
- Roserade: Razor Leaf, and Grass Knot, if I remember it correctly.
- Electivire: I added one more good electric type pokemon.
- Zapdos: It’s second electric type, but still working great.
The Results!
I took this team into a few more Kingler raids, and man, it was a huge difference! We melted through those Kinglers super fast. The battles were way quicker, and I felt like I was actually contributing some serious damage.
So, there you have it. If you’re looking to beat Kingler, focus on strong Electric and Grass types. It’s not rocket science, but having the right team makes all the difference!
