Alright, so I’ve been hooked on Pokémon Go again lately, and I decided I wanted to power up my Drifblim. It’s a cool-looking Pokémon, and I figured it could be fun to use in battles. So here’s how I went about it.
Catching the Drifloon
First things first, I needed a decent Drifloon to evolve. I remembered that Drifloon tend to pop up more often during windy weather in the game, So I started checking the app more frequently when the wind picked up outside.

I also kept an eye out for any Drifloon nests nearby. I used some local Pokémon Go groups to see if anyone had reported sightings, After a few days of searching and a bit of luck, I finally caught a Drifloon with pretty good stats – high IVs, as they call it.
Getting Enough Candy
Next up was the candy grind. I needed 100 Drifloon candies to evolve it into Drifblim. I made Drifloon my buddy Pokémon, so I’d earn candy as I walked around. I also made sure to use Pinap Berries every time I encountered a Drifloon to double the candy I got from catching it.
- Walked a lot with Drifloon as my buddy.
- Always used Pinap Berries when catching Drifloon.
- Transferred any extra Drifloon I caught to the professor for extra candy.
It took a while, maybe a couple of weeks of playing pretty regularly, but I finally hit that 100 candy mark.
Evolution and Powering Up
With enough candy in hand, I evolved my best Drifloon. I got a nice Drifblim! But it still wasn’t super strong, so I started using Stardust and the candies I’d saved up to power it up.
I focused on powering it up whenever I had extra resources, especially after completing research tasks that rewarded Stardust. Slowly but surely, its CP (Combat Power) started climbing.
Battle Time
Finally, I took my powered-up Drifblim into some battles. I tried it out in raids and against Team Rocket grunts. It wasn’t the absolute strongest Pokémon, but it held its own, and it was fun to use something a little different than the usual meta picks.
So that’s my Drifblim journey. It was a bit of a grind, but I enjoyed the process. And hey, now I have a cool, powered-up ghost balloon to show off!
