Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with the Tremendous Statue in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
So, I’ve been playing ACNH for a while, and I’m all about decorating my island. I love getting those cool art pieces from Redd, you know, that sneaky fox. But, I’m always so paranoid about getting a fake.

Getting My Hands on the Statue
One day, Redd showed up on my secret beach. I ran over there, heart pounding, hoping for something good. He had a bunch of stuff, and, lo and behold, there it was – the Tremendous Statue. I’d seen pictures online, and I knew this one could be tricky. The real one is, well, just the statue. The fake one? It has a lid.
I remembered reading that the real one is based off an old clay figure, so there can not be a lid on the real one.
The Inspection Process
I squinted at the screen, my face like two inches from the Switch. The lighting on Redd’s boat is terrible, by the way. Seriously, Nintendo, give the guy some decent lamps! Anyway, I looked and looked, top to bottom. I didn’t see a lid! I was holding my breath, trying to be super sure.
The Purchase
After what felt like an hour (probably more like five minutes), I decided to go for it. I handed over my hard-earned bells, and Redd gave me that sly little grin. You know the one. The “I might have just ripped you off” grin.
The Waiting Game
Then came the agonizing wait. You know how it is – you order something in the game, and you have to wait until the next day for it to arrive in the mail. Torture! I spent the rest of the day doing my usual island stuff, but I kept checking the mailbox. Obsessively.
The Reveal!
Finally, the next day arrived! I sprinted to the mailbox, yanked it open, and there it was! I grabbed the package, raced to Blathers at the museum, and donated it.
Is it Fake?
- I am so exciting that I almost forget to take a carefully look at the Statue.
- I looked it over again. No lid.
- Blathers took the Statue.
He gave his usual speech, and… it was real! YES! I did a little victory dance right there in the museum. Blathers probably thought I was crazy, but I didn’t care. I had a genuine Tremendous Statue!
So, that’s my story. It was a bit of a nail-biter, but it all worked out in the end. Just remember, if you’re hunting for the Tremendous Statue: check for a lid, check again and go for it!
