First, I hit up some forums. You know, see what the hardcore players were saying. Some people were all about evolving Kadabra ASAP, like, the second it hits level 16. Their logic? Get Alakazam’s better stats sooner and start crushing everything.
But then, I found some other folks who were like, “Whoa, hold your horses!” They were saying Kadabra learns some killer moves at later levels that Alakazam can’t. If you evolve too early, you’ll miss out.
My Deep Dive into Kadabra’s Moves
So, I decided to do some digging myself. I checked out Kadabra’s level-up moves and compared them to Alakazam’s. Here’s the gist:
- Kadabra Learns Kinesis at level 16.
- Kadabra Learns Disable at level 18.
- Kadabra Learns Psybeam at level 21.
- Kadabra Learns Recover at level 27.
- Kadabra Learns Psychic at level 30.
- Kadabra Learns Reflect at level 36.
After comparing, I was like, “Okay I want it learn the Psychic for sure!”

I decided for my playing style. I love those powerful Psychic-type. So, I set on 30, before evolving!
Then I trained my Kadabra, level by level to Level 30.
The Grand Evolution!
Finally, the moment of truth! My Kadabra hit level 30, learned the Psychic.I grabbed my friend’s, and we did the trade. Boom! Instant Alakazam!
