Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) again, and this time I’m obsessed with figuring out this whole “luck with money” thing. I heard whispers about it affecting how many bells you get from rocks and trees, so I decided to get to the bottom of it.
First, I googled around a bit – you know, the usual, checking forums and guides. I wanted to figure out exactly how luck works. Seemed like it was tied to feng shui and Katrina, the fortune teller. I figured, “Okay, I’ll give this a shot.”
My Feng Shui Experiment
I started with the feng shui stuff. Apparently, the colors of your furniture and where you place them in your house can boost your luck. Green items in the south, red in the east, yellow in the west… the whole deal. I’m not gonna lie, my house looked like a rainbow threw up in it, but I was committed.
- I rearranged my furniture probably five times, trying to get the “perfect” feng shui setup.
- I crafted a bunch of yellow and green furniture. So. Much. Stuff.
- I even bought some red items from Nook’s Cranny, just to cover all my bases.
After all that, I went rock smashing and tree shaking. Honestly? Didn’t notice a huge difference. I mean, I got some bells, but nothing crazy. Maybe I didn’t do it right? Or maybe feng shui is just… not that powerful?
Katrina’s Fortunes
Next up: Katrina. She finally showed up on my island, so I was stoked. I paid her the bells for a fortune, and she told me I had “good luck with money.” Perfect! I immediately ran to the nearest money rock and started whacking it with my shovel.
This time, I actually noticed a difference! I got way more bells than usual. Like, a LOT more. I repeated this with a few other rocks, and same thing. Katrina’s fortune definitely seemed to be working!
The Realization (and Continued Testing)
But here the thing! after that, I only did this for 3 more days, because it’s too much work to do this everyday! and guess what, after these 3 days, the luck seems faded away.

So, here’s what I’ve figured out so far: Katrina’s fortune definitely seems to have the biggest impact on your money luck. Feng shui? Maybe it helps a little, but it’s not a game-changer. I’m still not 100% sure about all the details, and the game keeps changing, but I’m gonna keep experimenting and see what else I can find. I’ll keep you guys posted!
