Alright, guys, so the other day I was getting absolutely wrecked in bot lane. I’m talking full-on tilt mode. I play a mean Jinx, but this Samira… man, she was just dancing around my rockets and making me look silly. So, I decided, enough is enough. Time to figure out how to shut this champ down.
The Experiment Begins
First, I hopped into a few normal games, deliberately picking against Samira whenever I saw her locked in. My thinking? Get my butt kicked, but learn something in the process. I tried a bunch of different ADCs, scribbling notes down after each game like a mad scientist.

- Jhin: Thought the long range and traps might help. Nope. She just dashes through everything and bursts me down.
- Caitlyn: Okay, the range is definitely better, and I could poke her a bit. But her Wind Wall (that stupid W) just blocked my crucial skill, and once she’s on top of you, it’s lights out.
- Ashe: Now, I use the Volley skill to harass her a lot, but she’s so agressive that I can’t last hit minions properly.
A glimmer of hope!
The next several games felt rough. The breakthrough? I go with champions who can control a lot. Then I remembered, there are some champions can do this.
- Vayne: She can Tumble my skill and Condemn me to the wall. When I fall, she can control me and kill me.
- Tristana: She is stronger than Samira in the early game. So I should be careful and don’t be killed by her before level 6.
I spent a few more matches, just practicing, and starting to win lane. I was finally starting to understand how to position myself, when to engage, and when to just chill and farm. I try to avoid Samira’s strong early game.
I realized it wasn’t just about the champion, though. A big part of countering Samira is about playing smart.
- Don’t let her stack her passive easily: Avoid extended trades where she can just auto-attack and weave in abilities.
- Respect the Wind Wall: Seriously, this ability is a pain. Bait it out, or find a way around it.
- Coordinate with your support: A well-timed stun or root can completely ruin Samira’s day.
So, that’s my Samira counter journey. No magic bullet, just a lot of trial and error, and a willingness to learn from my mistakes. I’m still no grandmaster, but at least I don’t feel completely helpless when I see that Daredevil pop up on the loading screen anymore.
