Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into Pokemon GO lately, trying to really up my game in raids and battles. And you know who’s a total powerhouse if you set them up right? Alakazam. This Psychic-type beast can dish out some serious damage, but only if you’ve got the right moves. So, I spent a good chunk of time experimenting, and here’s what I found to be the absolute best moveset for my Alakazam.
My Quest for the Perfect Alakazam
First, I caught a bunch of Abras. I mean, a ton of them. My goal was to get one with really good IVs (Individual Values) – you know, those hidden stats that determine a Pokemon’s potential. It took a while, walking around, doing raids, hatching eggs… the whole nine yards. Finally, I landed a pretty sweet Abra with high Attack and decent HP.
Next, I had to evolve that little guy. That meant gathering enough Abra Candy. More walking, more catching, and a few Rare Candies thrown in for good measure. Once I had enough, I hit that evolve button and bam! Kadabra. One more evolution to go.
Choosing the Right Moves
Evolving my Kadabra to Alakazam cost even more Candy, so I made very sure to do during a 2x evolution candy event. But the real trick was figuring out the best moves. I used a bunch of TMs (Technical Machines) – those items that let you change a Pokemon’s moves. I started off testing a few different combinations that did not work.
- Confusion and Psychic.
- Psycho Cut, and Shadow Ball.
It’s very important that I tested everything.
Finally, after much trial and error, I got to the setup I wanted.
The Winning Combination!
Okay, so after all that experimenting, here’s the moveset I’ve found works best for my Alakazam:
- Fast Move: Counter (Fighting-type)
- Charged Move: Psychic (Psychic-type)
Why these? Well, Counter is surprisingly amazing on Alakazam. Even though it’s a Fighting-type move, it charges up energy really fast. And Alakazam’s Attack stat is so high that it still does respectable damage, even though it doesn’t get the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB). This lets me fire off those Psychic attacks way more often. Psychic, of course, is a no-brainer. It’s a powerful Psychic-type move, and Alakazam does get STAB on that, making it hit like a truck.
And that’s it! My Alakazam is now a total beast in raids, and I’ve even had some success with it in PvP battles. It takes some work to get there, but trust me, it’s worth it!
