Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Animal Crossing: New Horizons lately, and I got totally hooked on collecting all the art. I mean, Redd’s shady dealings aside, I wanted my museum to look amazing. But figuring out which paintings were real and which were fake? Total headache. So, I started keeping track, and I figured I’d share my notes here, in case anyone else is struggling.
My “Common Painting” Quest
First, I grabbed my Switch and booted up the game. I knew Redd was somewhere on my island, lurking in his sketchy little boat. I found him, and of course, he had a bunch of paintings. The “Common Painting” was one of them, and, I will be honest, I stood there for a good five minutes, just staring at my screen.

Then I quickly grab my phone and start to find something useful.
After some searching, I finally found some clues. They said: there are not fakes of “Common Painting”! It always be real!
So I went back to my game and closely compared the painting again, and again, and again. After I confirmed every detail I saw, I decided to take a chance.
I bought the “Common Painting” from Redd (fingers crossed!). Then I ran, like, sprinted to the museum. I found Blathers, talked to him, and chose the option to donate the painting.
And… he accepted it! It was the real deal! It was a small victory, but it felt so good. Seriously, the feeling of finally donating a legit piece of art is the best.
So that’s it! Hope my little adventure can help someone!
