Alright, guys, let’s talk about how I finally snagged myself a Porygon in Pokémon Go. It was a bit of a journey, so buckle up!
The Hunt Begins
So, I’d been playing Pokémon Go for a while, and Porygon was one of those elusive Pokémon I just couldn’t seem to find. I knew it wasn’t super common, but I was determined. I started by, you know, just playing the game normally. Walking around, hitting up PokéStops, the usual.

- Lots of walking. Seriously, my shoes were getting worn out.
- Spinning every PokéStop I could find.
- Catching everything, even the Pidgeys, hoping for a lucky spawn.
No luck. Days turned into weeks, and still no digital duck.
Getting Serious
I figured I needed to up my game. I started paying more attention to in-game events. Niantic loves those, and they often feature specific Pokémon. I kept an eye on the news tab in the app and made sure to participate in any event that seemed even remotely promising.
My event strategy:
- Played during Community Days.
- Participated in special research tasks.
- Checked for event announcements every day.
Still nothing! I was starting to think Porygon was a myth.
The Breakthrough!
Then, it happened. There was a special event, some sort of throwback challenge, and guess what? Porygon was one of the featured spawns! I couldn’t believe my eyes.
I made sure I had plenty of Poké Balls, Incense, and Lucky Eggs. I wanted to maximize my chances. I went to a local park that’s known for having a lot of PokéStops and just started walking. I popped an Incense, activated a Lucky Egg, and kept my fingers crossed.
And there it was! A Porygon, right there on my screen. I almost dropped my phone! I used a Razz Berry, threw a Great Ball, and held my breath… Gotcha!
It had average IV, but no problem! I have got one!
So, the moral of the story? Keep playing, pay attention to events, and don’t give up! You’ll get that Porygon eventually. Good luck, trainers!
