Okay, so I’ve been playing a ton of Animal Crossing: New Horizons lately, and I decided I wanted to get serious about my island’s flower game. Specifically, I wanted those pristine white lilies. They just look so classy, you know?
So, I started where any reasonable person would… I went to my shop. And, naturally, I got all of the basic color seeds that I could find. I bought a bunch of red and yellow lily seeds. I knew I couldn’t just buy white lilies; I had to breed them.

Operation Lily Breeding
First things first, I cleared out a nice, big patch of land. Gotta have room for activities, flower-breeding activities, that is. I planted the red and yellow lilies in a checkerboard pattern. My thinking was, red plus yellow equals… maybe something that could eventually lead to white? It was kind of a shot in the dark, honestly.
- Day 1: Planted red and yellow lilies in a checkerboard. Watered diligently. Felt optimistic.
- Day 2: More watering. Still just red and yellow. Patience, young grasshopper.
- Day 3: A few orange lilies popped up! Okay, we’re getting somewhere! I felt like a flower-breeding genius.
I took those orange ones, and create another flower-breeding field for those new orange lilies, Then I planted them.
I keep watering my field.
- Day 4: Watering my field!
- Day 5: My field grows orange lilies, I keep watering.
- Day 6: A new lily generated in my orange lily filed, it is white!
I was so stoked! I carefully dug them up and moved them to a special display area near my house. Now, my island entrance has a touch of elegance, all thanks to my (somewhat haphazard) flower-breeding skills.
