Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Pokémon GO lately, and I wanted to share my experience with evolving those Unova Pokémon that get a boost from trading. You know, the ones that are a pain to evolve normally because they need so many candies?
I started by focusing on the four Pokémon that benefit from trade evolutions: Boldore, Gurdurr, Karrablast, and Shelmet. Catching them wasn’t too bad, they pop up in the wild, and I even got a few from raids and research tasks. The real challenge was finding people to trade with!
I hit up my local Pokémon GO group, did many raids, and started asking anyone there. Turns out, a lot of people were in the same boat, they have no idea what’s going on with this trade-evolve method!
My Trade Evolution Adventure
- Boldore to Gigalith:
I had to search for a friend from playing raids together. Luckily, he’s also got a Boldore! After the trade, I went straight to Boldore’s page and BOOM, the “Evolve” button was there, costing me nothing and I got my Gigalith.
- Gurdurr to Conkeldurr:
This one took some serious friendship. I got one from playing raids. Traded it to a close-by player. Same thing, traded, evolved, done!
- Karrablast and Shelmet:
These two were a little different. I had tons of Karrablast, but few Shelmet. So, I messaged people asking anyone got Shelmet. The trick is you need to trade Karrablast FOR Shelmet, and Shelmet FOR Karrablast. It’s like they trigger each other’s evolution. Found one guy who’s collecting Shelmet, I gave him many of mine for all his Karrablast. After several trading between the two of us. Again, I got both evolved, one shot, no candy needed.
It was a great time. It’s cool to see these Unova Pokémon finally getting some love. I get all of them evolved, finally, it’s a fun process!
