Okay, so today I decided to jump back into Pokemon Go and try my luck with a Genesect raid. I’ve been seeing them pop up around my local gyms lately, and I figured, why not?
Getting Started
First things first, I checked the nearby raids using the in-game feature. Luckily, there was a Genesect raid about to hatch at a gym just a short walk from my place. Perfect! I grabbed my phone, made sure I had enough battery, and headed out.

The Raid Battle
Once I got to the gym, I saw a few other players already waiting. Always a good sign! I jumped into the lobby, and we waited for the countdown. We had a decent-sized group, maybe 6 or 7 of us, which I figured would be enough to take down Genesect.
When the battle started, I went with my strongest Fire-type Pokemon.I used:
- charizard
- Blaziken
I knew that bug and steel pokemon has weekness against fire type, so I must take advantage of that.I kept tapping away, dodging when I could, and using my charged attacks whenever they were ready. It was a pretty intense battle, but with everyone working together, we managed to whittle down Genesect’s health.
Victory!
Finally, with just a few seconds left on the clock, we defeated Genesect! Woohoo! I got my rewards, which included some Golden Razz Berries and some TMs. And of course, I got the chance to catch Genesect itself.
Catching Genesect
This is always the nerve-wracking part. I used a Golden Razz Berry to increase my chances, and I went for a curveball throw. First throw… it broke free. Second throw… same thing. I was starting to sweat a little! But finally, on the third try, I caught it! Yes!
Overall, it was a successful raid. I got a new Genesect, some good rewards, and had some fun playing with other trainers. Definitely a good way to spend a part of my day. If you see a Genesect raid near you, I’d say go for it! Just make sure you have some strong Fire-types ready to go.
