Alright, so I was playing Madden 22 the other day, and I ran into this super annoying “desync” issue. Let me tell you, it’s a real pain. I’d heard about it before, but experiencing it firsthand? Whole different ballgame.
So, here’s what went down. I started a new franchise mode, picked my team, the mighty Bears (Da Bears!), and got everything set up. I was super pumped to start the season and, you know, dominate.

The first couple of games, everything was smooth. No problems, just good ol’ football. I was winning, feeling good, and thinking, “Man, this is gonna be a great season!” But then, BAM! It hit me.
The Desync Disaster
I was playing against the Packers (ugh, them again), and it was a tight game, down to the wire. I’m talking last few seconds, I’m lining up for a game-winning field goal. And then, the screen freezes. Not a normal freeze, though. The music was still playing, and I could hear the crowd, but the game was just…stuck.
I waited, thinking it might be temporary. Nope. Minutes, no change. So, I started researching the issue, and found out, welcome to the Madden 22 desync club!
- I tried restarting the game.
- I tried restarting my console.
- I even tried clearing the cache, like some forums suggested.
Nothing. The game was still stuck, and worse, when I finally gave up and quit, it didn’t save my progress. I had to replay the whole game! And guess what? It happened AGAIN! Same spot, same situation. It was like the game was cursed.
I went online, did some more digging, and found out this desync thing is a known issue, especially in franchise mode. Apparently, it’s something to do with the game’s online connection, even if you’re playing offline. Some folks said it’s related to roster updates or something, but honestly, I’m no tech expert.
I followed some advice to try playing offline. I disconnected my console from the internet completely before I even started the game. Made sure I had the latest update before I went dark, and went back to try it again. The issue was still there.
It’s super frustrating, especially when you’re invested in your franchise. I’m still looking for a surefire fix, but for now, I’m just playing shorter games, saving frequently, and hoping it doesn’t happen again. If anyone’s got a magic solution, please share, my controller and I are desperate.
