Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with Shroomish in Pokémon GO.
So, I’ve been trying to complete some research tasks, and a bunch of them needed me to catch these Grass-type Pokémon. I figured, “Okay, time to find some Shroomish!”

Tracking Down the ‘Shroom
I started by just wandering around my usual spots. You know, parks, areas with lots of trees… the places you’d expect to find Grass-types hanging out.
- First stop: The local park. Walked the whole loop, incense going, but nothing. A few Oddish, a Bellsprout or two, but no Shroomish.
- Next up: The botanical gardens. Figured this was a sure thing, right? Nope. Got a bunch of Sunkern, which was nice, but still no mushroom Pokémon.
I was starting to get a little frustrated. I mean, Shroomish isn’t that rare, right? It’s not like I was hunting for a legendary or anything.
Changing My Strategy
I decided I needed to switch things up. I checked online to see if there were any nests reported nearby. Sometimes, certain Pokémon will spawn more frequently in specific areas. I use no website resources to find it!
And that’s also not a good idea.
I tried going out during different times of the day. I’d heard that some Pokémon are more active during the day, and others at night. So, I did a few early morning walks and a couple of evening strolls. Still nothing!
Finally, Success!
I was almost ready to give up. But then, I remembered the Mossy Lure Module! I’d been saving a few of these, and I figured it was time to use one. I found a PokéStop near a small wooded area, popped the Lure Module in, and waited.
And guess what? Within about 10 minutes, a Shroomish finally appeared! I was so relieved. I tossed a Razz Berry, used a Great Ball, and caught it on the first try. I just need one for the quest, hahaha!
My Takeaways
Here’s what I learned from this whole experience:
- Patience is key. Sometimes, you just have to keep at it, even when it feels like you’re getting nowhere.
- Don’t be afraid to change your tactics. If something isn’t working, try something else.
- Pay attention to the weather. If the game shows the weather is Sunny/Clear, Grass-type Pokémon will appear more.
- Lure Modules are your friends! Especially the special ones like the Mossy Lure.
So, yeah, that’s my Shroomish story. It wasn’t the most exciting adventure, but it definitely taught me a few things about playing Pokémon GO. Good luck with your own Pokémon hunts!
