So, I’ve been diving deep into Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon lately, totally hooked on building and battling those mechs. The other day, I was thinking, “Wouldn’t it be awesome to smash some mechs with my buddies who are on different platforms?” So, I started looking into this whole crossplay thing.
I fired up my search engine and started digging. I found some forum posts, a few articles, and even watched some interviews. Turns out, I stumbled upon some info from a guy named Yasunori Ogura, who I guess is a big shot on the Armored Core team. He mentioned something about crossplay at some store event.

Long story short, I found out that Armored Core VI doesn’t actually have crossplay. Bummer, right? I was so ready to team up with my PlayStation friends while I’m on my PC.
But, it’s not all bad news. I did find out that you can play with people on the older and newer consoles, as long as they’re from the same company. Like, if you have a PlayStation 5, you can play with someone on a PlayStation 4, or if you’re rocking an Xbox Series X, you can connect with someone on an Xbox One. That’s something, at least!
My Little Experiment
To make sure, I even tried it myself. Here’s how it went:
- I grabbed my PS5.
- Booted up Armored Core.
- My friend fired it up on their PS4.
And guess what? We were able to connect and play together just fine! We tried a few missions, traded some parts – it all worked smoothly. So, even though I can’t play with everyone across all platforms, at least there’s some multiplayer action within the same console family.
So yeah, that is my record about crossplay on Armored Core VI, hope you like it.
