Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Pokemon GO lately, and specifically, I was trying to snag a Heatran with its legacy move, Magma Storm. It’s a beast of a Fire-type move, and I wanted it for my raid team. Here’s how the whole thing went down.
First, I had to figure out when Heatran was even going to be available. I did some digging on the usual Pokemon GO news sites and community forums. Turns out, Heatran with Magma Storm was only available during certain raid events. Gotta be on the lookout for those announcements!

The Hunt Begins
Once I knew the dates, it was all about prepping. I made sure I had a solid team of counters. You know, strong Ground, Fighting, and Water types. I powered up my best Groudon, Kyogre, and a few others to make sure I was ready to roll. It’s all about that DPS(Damage Per Second), right?
- Checked for raid events:Kept an eye on Pokemon GO news.
- Prepared my team: Powered up strong counters.
Raid Time!
When the event finally hit, I was glued to my phone. I joined a bunch of local Discord and WhatsApp groups for raiding, to corrdinate with the other players.
Teamwork is the key for these, especially if I want to get it done quick. The first few Heatran raids I did, no luck. No Magma Storm. It’s all RNG(Random Number Generator), so you just gotta keep trying. I burned through a good number of raid passes, let me tell you, but the challenge keeps me going.
Success(Finally!)
Then, on maybe my fifth or sixth raid, boom! There it was. A Heatran, and after I caught it, I checked the moveset… Magma Storm! I was so stoked. It was a good feeling, all that effort finally paid * has some decent IVs(Individual Values), too, so that was a nice bonus.
The whole process was a bit of a grind, but that’s what makes these legacy moves feel special. It’s not something everyone has, and it took some real dedication to get. Now I’ve got a Heatran that can really dish out some damage, and it’s all thanks to staying informed, preparing well, and just sticking with it.
