Okay, so today I wanted to figure out the whole deal with Alolan Exeggutor versus the regular one. I mean, one’s a giant palm tree and the other… isn’t. So, I fired up my game and got to work.
Catching the Crew
First things first, I needed both versions. I already had a regular Exeggcute, so I evolved that. Easy peasy. Then, I transferred an Alolan Exeggutor from my Pokemon Go which just collected from my home. You know to save my time, I always do.
The Big Showdown
Now for the fun part – seeing these guys in action! I went to do battles online, and started battling with random trainers.
- Regular Exeggutor: This guy, well, it’s your classic Grass/Psychic type. I tried to use the skills such like sleep powder, dream eater, psychic, and also giga drain.
- Alolan Exeggutor: This one is a Grass/Dragon. My goodness, I totally changed the gameplay. I mean, who expects a Dragon-type palm tree? I felt like a genius using its Dragon Hammer. So, I used the moves, Dragon Hammer, Wood Hammer, Dragon Pulse and Flamethrower.
My Takeaway
After all this experimenting, here’s what I’ve think:
The Alolan form just felt… cooler. It’s got a totally different vibe, and that Dragon typing makes it a bit more special in battles, in my humble opinion. I like it better than the original one. I felt the battles are fun and hilarious. So it is a good day today! I made it!
