Okay, here’s my experience playing League of Legends, specifically about the end of the 2023 season:
So, I started playing League again after a long break, you know, life happens. I decided to jump back in a couple of months before the season ended. My main goal? Just to see how high I could climb in ranked before the clock ran out.

My first few games? Rough. Really rough. I felt like a total noob again. I was rusty, my mechanics were sloppy, and I kept making dumb mistakes. I think I lost like, five games in a row. It was pretty demoralizing, I’m not gonna lie.
But, I stuck with it. I started watching some streams, reading some guides, just trying to get back into the groove. I mainly played support because, well, it’s less pressure, and I can usually have a positive impact even if I’m not carrying.
My Grind Begins
- I focused on a few champions I was comfortable with. No point trying to learn new ones when the season’s ending, right?
- I really tried to improve my warding. Vision is key, as they say. I bought tons of control wards, always made sure key areas were lit up.
- I also worked on my shot-calling. Even if it was just simple stuff like “pinging” objectives or warning teammates about potential ganks.
Slowly but surely, I started winning more. I climbed from Iron to Bronze, then Silver. It felt good, man. Like I was actually making progress.
The last week of the season was a real grind. Every game felt super important. There was a lot of toxicity, a lot of try-hards (myself included, haha). But I managed to hit Gold! It wasn’t anything crazy, but it was my goal, and I was happy with it.
Overall, it was a fun experience. Even though it was stressful at times, it was cool to see myself improve and climb the ranks. I’m already looking forward to the next season, and hopefully, I can hit Platinum this time!
