Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Apex Legends lately, and I wanted to mess around with some custom codes. Here’s the lowdown of what I did, and what you can expect when you start your own tests.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out where to even input these codes. Turns out, you gotta do it through the game’s launch options. It’s not super obvious, but it’s not rocket science either. I use Steam, so it might be a little different if you’re on Origin or another platform.

In Steam, I right-clicked on Apex Legends in my library and went to “Properties”. I then, Found the “Launch Options” section. That’s where the magic happens.
My First Few Attempts
My first attempt was to adjust the game startup. I’m impatient, so I wanted to skip those intro videos. I typed in a command to try and bypass them. Let’s see, I put in:
+novid
Then, I started up the game. Boom! No more long intro sequences. Straight to the main menu. It saved me a few seconds each time, which adds up if you’re like me and restart the game a lot.
Experimenting with FPS
Next, I wanted to see if I could squeeze out some extra performance. My PC isn’t the newest, so every frame counts. I added a couple more commands:
+fps_max unlimited
These were supposed to unlock my frame rate. In practice, I had no problems.
Troubleshooting and Tweaks
Not everything went perfectly smoothly, of course. There were a few times where I messed up a command, and the game either didn’t launch, or something weird happened. When that happened, I just went back into the Launch Options and double-checked what I typed. Usually, it was a simple typo or a missing character.
For example, one time I accidentally put an extra space where it didn’t belong, and it threw everything off. I had to go back, remove the extra spaces and it all worked again.
Wrapping Up
So, that’s my journey into the world of Apex Legends custom codes. It’s a fun way to personalize the game a bit and maybe even improve your performance. It’s not that scary, don’t afraid to adjust or try new things. Just remember to double-check your commands, and you’ll be golden. Have fun tweaking and see what you can discover!
