Okay, so you wanna add friends in Valorant, right? I had the same question a while back, so here’s how I figured it out, step-by-step:
Find Your Riot ID and Tagline
First things first, I launched Valorant. Gotta be in the game to do anything, obviously. Once I was in, I hovered my mouse over my profile icon, you know, the one in the top right corner. A little box popped up, and that’s where I found my Riot ID and tagline. It’s basically your username, followed by a hashtag and a few numbers or letters. Mine was something like “MyUsername#123”. I made a note of that ’cause I knew I’d need it later.

Adding a Friend
Next, I clicked on the social panel – it’s that little icon that looks like a person with a plus sign, on the bottom right of the screen. That opened up the friends list and stuff. Then I clicked the “Add Friend” button. It’s pretty obvious, it has another plus sign.
A box showed up, and that’s where I typed in my friend’s Riot ID and tagline. Remember, you gotta get that tagline exactly right, with the hashtag and everything! If you mess up one number, it won’t work. I double-checked everything to make sure I had it right.
Send the Friend Request
Once I was sure I had the right Riot ID and tagline, I hit the “Send Friend Request” button. Boom! Request sent.
Accepting a Friend Request
- If someone sends you a request, you’ll see a notification.
- I clicked to a human-liked button on the bottom right of screen.
- I find all my friend Request and I clicked the little checkmark to accept.
And that’s it! We were friends in Valorant, ready to team up (or get totally destroyed, depending on how the game goes). It’s pretty simple once you do it a couple of times.
