Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little experiment with Fortnite ranks. I’ve been playing Fortnite on and off, mostly just messing around with friends. But lately, I got curious – where do I actually stand in the grand scheme of things? Am I a total noob, or am I secretly a Fortnite god? (Spoiler: I’m probably closer to the noob end of the spectrum).
My Quest for Average
So, I started by doing what any self-respecting gamer would do: I hit up the internet. I figured there had to be some info out there about the average Fortnite rank. I mean, it’s a hugely popular game, right?
I typed in “what’s the average rank in fortnite” and, well, the internet did its thing. Lots of articles, lots of forum posts, lots of opinions. It wasn’t as straightforward as I’d hoped!
Digging Through the Data
It turns out, figuring out the “average” is a bit tricky. Some sites talked about the distribution of players across different ranks (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, etc.). Others focused on the percentage of players in each rank.
I Found that it is very hard to pin point an “average”, because Epic Games(the fortnite developer) does not give those stats.
My (Very Unscientific) Conclusion
After spending a good chunk of time reading and comparing, I came to a very, very rough conclusion. It seems like a large chunk of players are hanging out in the Gold ranks. Maybe Gold III or so? I’m basing this purely on the info I found online, so take it with a huge grain of salt.

- I ignored some of the more clickbaity articles, to focus on the ones that I felt more solid.
Honestly, the whole thing reminded me that “average” is a pretty subjective term. It depends on how you define it, what data you’re looking at, and probably a bunch of other factors I’m not even considering. My main takeaway? I’m probably somewhere in the middle of the pack, and that’s perfectly fine by me. I’m having fun, and that’s all that really matters, right? Now, I am off to play and gain some ranks!
