Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into FIFA 23 lately, and I gotta say, Jorge Campos is a total blast from the past! I remember him from when I was a kid, and seeing him in the game brought back so many memories. I just had to try him out.
First thing I did was jump into Ultimate Team. I wanted to see if I could snag him from a pack. No luck there, sadly. Spent a good chunk of my saved-up coins trying, too!
So, plan B: the transfer market. I searched for him, and boom, there he was! A few different versions, of course, but I went for a mid-tier one. Didn’t want to completely break the bank, you know?
Building My Squad
Next up, figuring out how to fit him into my team. Chemistry is key in Ultimate Team, so I needed to surround him with players from either Mexico or MLS, or maybe some Icons. I already had a pretty solid Premier League squad, so I decided to build a hybrid team. Kind of a fun challenge!
- Goalkeeper: Jorge Campos (obviously!)
- Defenders: I mixed in some Premier League defenders with a couple of Mexican league players to get that chemistry boost.
- Midfielders: Same deal here. Had to get creative to link everyone up.
- Attackers: Mostly my usual Premier League stars, but I threw in a Mexican Icon up front to help with Campos’s chemistry.
It took a little bit of trial and error, swapping players in and out, but I finally got it to a point where everyone had decent chemistry. Time to test it out!
Taking Him for a Spin
I hopped into a few Division Rivals matches. Man, Campos is short for a keeper! But he’s also incredibly agile. He made some saves that I absolutely did not expect. Diving all over the place, pulling off some crazy reflexes.
The best part, though? His custom kits! Just like the old days, he’s got these wild, colorful outfits. It just makes the game more fun, you know? Pure nostalgia.
He’s not perfect, of course. His height can be a disadvantage against tall strikers, especially on crosses. But his agility and reflexes more than make up for it, in my opinion.
I find he can do better when I control him manually.
All in all, playing with Jorge Campos in FIFA 23 has been a total trip down memory lane. He’s not the best goalkeeper in the game, statistically speaking, but he’s definitely one of the most fun. And sometimes, that’s what matters most!
