Alright, so I’ve been itching to get back into NBA 2K24, but I heard there were some issues. Figured I’d tackle the latest patch update and see if it made things any better. Here’s how it went down.
Firing Up the Game
First things first, I launched the game on my console. I usually keep my system on rest mode, so sometimes it doesn’t automatically grab the updates. I made sure, from the main menu, to Check for Update and see that it was already installed.

Checking the Update
It will automatically starts to download, so I just waited for the download to complete. Took a bit of time – my internet’s not exactly lightning-fast, you know? Grabbed a drink, scrolled through some stuff on my phone… the usual waiting game.
Restarting the Game
Once the download finished, I restarted the whole system and launch the game, just to be extra sure everything was applied correctly. Don’t want any weird glitches popping up mid-game.
Diving In
After the restart, I jumped back into MyCareer. My player’s a scoring machine, but I’d been noticing some wonky animations and weird AI behavior. I wanted to see if this update smoothed things out.
My Experience After the Update
- Gameplay Tweaks: I definitely noticed some differences, but not huge, it’s hard to explain… The player movement felt a little more responsive. I played a few games, and I can say that is a little better.
- Bugs and Glitches: I will keep playing for a week or two to verify, but for now, nothing weird.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I think the patch is a step in the right direction. It’s not a complete overhaul, but it does address some of the annoying stuff. I’m gonna keep playing and see how it holds up over time. I need to grind a bit and see if I can avoid another rage-quit session. Fingers crossed!
