Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about Burn Drive Genesect in Pokemon Go lately, and I finally decided to jump in and see what all the fuss was about. I’d heard it was pretty good, but man, was I in for a ride.
First things first, I needed a Genesect. Luckily, I had a few saved up from past raids. if you don’t have one, keep watching for it to come back into the raid rotation. you can find some communities to do remote raids.

Then came the tricky part – getting the Burn Drive. These things are specific items, I remembered, that you can’t get all time, you gotta get them when they’re available. I checked around and it looks like they did some events where they gave them. I got mine during one of the special raid events. They weren’t just handing them out, though. I had to battle in a bunch of raids to get enough chances.
Once I finally got my hands on a Burn Drive, I used it on one of my Genesect. Boom! Instant Burn Drive Genesect. the color changed a little, and the Techno Blast, showed “fire type”.
Testing It Out
- Battling in Gyms: I took my new Burn Drive Genesect to a few local gyms. It absolutely shredded through some of the common defenders like Blissey and Snorlax. The Fire-type Techno Blast was super effective, it’s really fast.
- Raids: I also tried it out in a couple of raids. It did some great damage, especially it was a grass type, and also good for bug, steel. I think it’s pretty useful in some situations.
- Trainer Battles (PvP): This is where things got interesting. I’m not a huge PvP player, but I gave it a shot. It’s not bad, It can hit pretty hard, and the fast charging is a plus.
Overall, I’d say Burn Drive Genesect is a worthy addition to your Pokemon Go team. It’s not going to break the game, but it’s a solid Fire-type attacker that can be useful in a variety of situations. My main takeaway? Keep an eye out for those special events and raid rotations, and snag a Burn Drive when you can!
