Alright, so I’ve been messing around with F1 23, trying to get a decent setup for the Australian Grand Prix. It’s a tricky track, you know? Lots of fast corners and a few tight chicanes that can really mess you up if you’re not careful. Here’s what I did:
First Attempts
I started with the default setup, just to get a feel for the track again. I did a few laps, and man, it was all over the place. The car was sliding around, I couldn’t get the power down, and I was basically a moving chicane for the AI.

Tweaking Time
So, I dove into the setup menu. I’m no expert, but I’ve watched enough YouTube videos to know the basics. I started by stiffening up the suspension a bit. This is because, you need more stability, you know?
- Front Suspension: I bumped it up a few clicks.
- Rear Suspension: Same here, a little stiffer.
Then, I played around with the anti-roll bars. These help with how the car handles in the corners. Stiff ones for responsiveness and stability.
- Front Anti-Roll Bar: I increased this to help turn-in.
- Rear Anti-Roll Bar: Made this a bit stiffer, too, to keep the rear end in check.
Next up, tyre pressures. Less pressure is better, it provides more grip at the expense of the lifespan.
Getting There
After all of the tweaks, I went back out on track. The difference was pretty noticeable. The car felt more planted, I could take the fast corners with more confidence, and I wasn’t losing the rear end every time I touched the throttle. I managed to shave a few seconds off my lap time, which was a good sign.
Final Adjustments
I still wasn’t completely happy, though. The car was still a bit twitchy in the slower corners, so I made a few more small adjustments:
- Front Wing: I Increased this to make the front more effective.
- Rear Wing: I add a few more clicks of the wing, just for a bit more downforce.
I went back to the track, I kept making adjustments, I was getting more confident, the car felt more stable. I finally can say I got a good setup.
It’s not perfect, I’m sure a pro could do better, but it’s a huge improvement over the default setup. Give it a try and see what you think!
