Alright, so I’ve been messing around with CSGO skins lately, and I got this idea to try and get only red knives. It sounds kinda dumb, I know, but I just thought it would be a cool, specific collection to aim for. So, I started this whole thing, kinda like a personal challenge.
The Hunt Begins
First thing I did was just jump into some casual games. You know, hoping to get lucky with drops. Yeah, that didn’t really work out. I mean, I got some cases, but nothing even close to a red knife. It was mostly just a bunch of, like, blue skins I already had.
Next, I figured I’d try trading. I spent hours looking at trade offers, trying to find people who were willing to part with their red knives. Most of the time, the prices were just insane. People wanted way too much for them, or they wanted other super rare skins that I definitely didn’t have.
I even tried those case opening websites. It was a long shot for sure. I spent a bit of money, opened a bunch of cases, and… well, let’s just say I ended up with a lot of skins I didn’t want. I think the best thing I got was a red-ish weapon skin, but not a knife, definitely not a knife.
The “Ah-Ha!” Moment (or Not)
So after all that, I was feeling pretty stuck. I had wasted time, and some money, and I was no closer to my all-red knife collection. Then, I thought, “Why not just buy them outright?” It seemed obvious in retrospect, but I was so focused on trying to get them “for free” or through trades that I hadn’t really considered it.
I checked out some of the community market stuff. The prices were, well, they were high. But at least it was a straightforward way to get what I wanted. It was a bit of a hit to the wallet, I’m not gonna lie, but I finally started to see my red knife collection taking shape.
Building the Collection
I started small, picking up some of the less expensive red knives. You know, the ones that weren’t super flashy, but still fit the theme. I got a few, and seeing them all together in my inventory was actually pretty satisfying.

- But also, realized I have many types of red knives to collect.
- So I continued.
Then, I started going for some of the bigger ones. The ones with the cool patterns and the really vibrant reds. That’s where things got really pricey, but hey, I was committed at this point. It took a while, and a lot of saving up in-game currency and real-world money. I had set myself a challenge and a goal.
The End Result (For Now)
So, after all that, do I have every single red knife? Nope. Not even close. There are some that are just ridiculously rare and expensive. But I’ve got a pretty decent collection going, and it’s something I’m actually kinda proud of. It’s not the most practical thing, but it was a fun little project, and it gave me something to focus on in the game.
I am going to try to get the last few that I am missing.
Will I achieve to get the last few ones? I do not know yet, but I will surely keep you guys updated when I made some progress.
It’s a reminder that sometimes the dumb little goals are the most fun to chase. Now if someone will ask me about how my experience was with the “csgo red knives” I have a story to tell.
