Alright, guys, so I’ve been grinding ranked games like crazy lately, and I wanted to share my take on the current mid lane meta. I started by hopping into a bunch of solo queue games, just to get a feel for what champions felt strong and which ones were kinda falling behind.
Initially, I just winged it, picking whatever I felt like playing. You know, some Ahri, a little bit of Syndra, even dusted off my old Zed. After each game, I made a quick note – did I feel impactful? Did I get stomped? Was it a close match? Just basic stuff.

My Experiment Process
After a few days of casual “research,” I started to see some patterns. Certain champs were consistently giving me trouble, while others felt like free wins. So, I decided to get a little more organized. I made a simple list, you know, just in my notes app:
- God Tier: Champions I could blind pick and still win.
- Strong Tier: Good picks, but maybe need a favorable matchup.
- Okay Tier: Situational, or need to be really good at the champ.
- Trash Tier: Avoid unless you’re a one-trick god.
Then I just kept playing. A lot. I tried to focus on champions I wasn’t super familiar with, too, just to get a broader perspective. I even watched some pro games and high-elo streams to see what those guys were prioritizing. I would pay close attention and take note to the pick.
For example, I had always struggled against Akali, she’s very popular this time. But after watching a few pro matches, I realized I was playing the matchup completely wrong. I started playing more patiently, waiting for her to waste her shroud, and boom – suddenly I wasn’t feeding my lane opponent anymore!
The “Okay Tier” was probably the hardest to figure out. Some champions felt really strong in certain situations, but totally useless in others. Like, if the enemy team had a ton of crowd control, picking a champion like Katarina felt like a death sentence. But if they were all squishy, she could absolutely dominate.
Finally, with my experiment and practice, I put some of my findings into a tier list that I’m confident sharing with you all, stay tuned!
