Okay, so I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show for a while, trying to find that “perfect” hitting view. You know, the one that makes you feel like you’re actually at the plate, ready to crush dingers. I tried a bunch, and honestly, it’s a bit of a journey. Here’s how it went down for me:
Experimenting with Different Views
I started with the default, whatever that was. It was…okay. Nothing special. I could hit, but it didn’t feel great. It felt, a bit detach from the batter, so I was decided to change.

Then, I jumped into the settings. Scrolling, scrolling… so many options! I tried a few of the “dynamic” ones that zoom in and out. Nope. Made me feel kinda seasick, and my timing was all over the place.
- Strike Zone: Seemed like a popular choice online, so I gave it a shot. It’s super zoomed in, which is supposed to help you see the ball better. I could, so thats means mission complete, I guess?
- Strike Zone 2: It’s just another style that makes you feel better, a bit far from Strike Zone.
- Strike Zone 3: A bit closer than Strike Zone, makes you feel more comfortable.
- Strike Zone High: Offers a slightly elevated perspective compared to the standard Strike Zone view.
- Offset Zoom: This view can offer some zoom and a different perspective, potentially helping with pitch recognition.
Finding My “Sweet Spot”
After messing around with those, I kept Strike Zone and Strike Zone High, the view feels good. I feel like I can see the ball’s movement a lot clearer, and my timing has definitely improved. I’m hitting more consistently, and it just feels right. It’s like I can anticipate the pitch better, if that makes sense.
My Recommendation
So, if you’re struggling with hitting in MLB The Show, I def recommend to test with Strike Zone and Strike Zone High. At the end of the day, though, it all comes down to your personal feel. What works for me might not work for you. Just keep experimenting, playing around, and you’ll find that view that clicks. Don’t be afraid to spend some time in practice mode, just getting a feel for things. Happy hitting!
