Alright guys, so I’ve been meaning to create this “J. Cole Quiz” for a while now, and I finally got around to doing it. It wasn’t super complicated, but it did take some thinking and planning. Here’s how the whole thing went down.
Brainstorming the Questions
First things first, I needed questions. I mean, you can’t have a quiz without questions, right? So, I started by just listening to a bunch of J. Cole. Like, a LOT. I went through all the albums, mixtapes, even some of those lesser-known features. I was jotting down notes as I went, things like:
- Lyric snippets that were kinda tricky but recognizable.
- Album release dates (easy ones, gotta have some easy ones!).
- Facts about his life – like where he was born, his college, stuff like that.
- Song titles that could be easily confused.
I ended up with a huge list, way more than I needed. It was a mess, honestly, just random thoughts on a notepad.
Choosing a Platform
Next, I had to figure out how to actually make the quiz. I didn’t want anything too fancy, just something simple and clean. I considered a few options. I’m not a coder, so building something from scratch was out. After some Googling, I settled. No downloads, no accounts, just a simple form.
Building the Quiz
This was probably the most time-consuming part. I took my giant list of potential questions and started narrowing it down. I wanted a good mix of difficulty levels. I picked out about 20 questions that I thought were the best. Then, I went and I typed each question into a file. I made most of them multiple-choice, with like four options, to make it a little easier. A few were true/false, just to mix it up. I had to type in all the answers, too, and make sure I marked the correct one, obviously. That would be a disaster if the quiz marked the wrong answer as right!
Testing and Tweaking
Once I had everything entered, I tested the quiz myself. Several times, actually. I wanted to make sure it flowed well, that the questions made sense, and that there were no glitches. I even got my friend Mike to take it, since he’s a big J. Cole fan too. He caught a couple of typos I missed and suggested rewording one of the questions to make it a little clearer. Good catch, Mike!
Sharing it Out
Finally, after all that, the quiz was ready! I felt pretty good about it. I might add more questions later, or maybe even make different quizzes for different albums. It was a fun little project, and it definitely made me appreciate J. Cole’s music even more. If you are a fan, I hope you can try my quiz.
