Okay, so I’ve been grinding hard in NBA 2K23 MyCareer, testing out a ton of different badge combinations to see what really works. I wanted to put together my own personal tier list, and that’s exactly what I did today.
Getting Started
First, I jumped into a few MyCareer games just to get a feel for the current build I was running. I wanted a baseline understanding of how my player felt before messing with any badges. I mostly focused on my usual moves and shots, taking mental notes of what felt good and what felt a little lacking.

Experimentation Phase
Next, it was time for the real work. I headed over to the badge screen and started experimenting. I equipped different badges, one by one, and then tested them out in the practice facility.
- I started with shooting badges, testing things like “Agent 3,” “Limitless Range,” and “Green Machine.” I paid close attention to how much easier it was to hit shots, and how much bigger my green window felt.
- Then I moved onto playmaking badges. I tried out “Quick First Step,” “Handles for Days,” and “Clamp Breaker” to see how they impacted my dribbling and ability to get past defenders.
- After playmaking, I tested finishing badges at the rim. “Fearless Finisher”, “Slithery”, and “Posterizer”.
- Finally defense, I equipped all the defensive badges to find out their impact, such as “clamps”, “interceptor”, and “anchor”.
Building the Tier List
After hours of testing, I started to get a good sense of which badges were truly impactful and which ones were kinda “meh.” Based on how much each badge improved my player’s performance, I began to sort them. I used a simple S, A, B, C, D tier system, with S being the absolute best and D being the ones I’d probably avoid.
- S-Tier: These are the must-haves, the badges that make a HUGE difference.
- A-Tier: Really good badges, definitely worth considering.
- B-Tier: Solid choices, but maybe not essential for every build.
- C-Tier: Situational badges, only useful in specific playstyles.
- D-Tier: The ones I found to be pretty underwhelming.
Final Thoughts
It took a while, but I finally had my tier list. It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely based on my playstyle, but it’s a solid starting point. It felt good to actually test every single badge instead of simply copy and pasting others homework.
