Okay, so I’ve been grinding hard on NBA 2K23 lately, and one thing that’s always a hot topic is badges. Which ones are worth equipping, and which ones are, well, kinda trash? I decided to do a deep dive and create my own tier list, and let me tell you, it was a journey.
First, I jumped into MyCareer and started experimenting. I created a few different builds – a sharpshooting guard, a slashing forward, and a playmaking big man – just to get a feel for how different badges performed across various playstyles.

I spent hours in the Gatorade Training Facility, just testing out different badge combinations. I’d set up drills, try out moves, and really pay attention to how much of a boost each badge was giving me. It was pretty tedious, to be honest, but I wanted to get it right.
Then, I took my builds online. The real test of a badge is how it performs in actual games, against real people. I played a bunch of games in the Park, the Rec, and Pro-Am, keeping track of which badges seemed to be making the biggest difference.
After all that playing and testing, I started putting together my tier list. Here’s a quick rundown of how I categorized things:
- S-Tier: These are the absolute must-haves. The badges that make a huge difference in your game, no matter your build.
- A-Tier: Really strong badges that are super effective, but maybe not quite as essential as the S-Tier ones.
- B-Tier: Good badges that can definitely help, but they might be a bit more situational or playstyle-dependent.
- C-Tier: Okay badges, but you can probably live without them. They might have niche uses, but they’re not game-changers.
- D-Tier: Honestly, just skip these. They’re either not very effective, or there are way better options.
It was tough to narrow it down, and honestly, my opinions might change as I play more and discover new things. But for now, I feel pretty good about my list. For example I put the “Limitless Range” into S-Tier for my shooting guard, It realy helps a lot. And “Clamp” is definitely S-Tier for my playmaking big man.
It’s all about finding what works best for your playstyle and your build. Don’t be afraid to experiment and see what feels right for you. That’s what I did, and it helped me create a tier list that I’m confident in, at least for now!
