Alright, mates, let’s talk about those pesky Shroudbreaker journals in Sea of Thieves. I’ve been hunting these down like a dog with a bone, and figured I’d share my journey, bumps and all.
Starting the Hunt
First things first, I grabbed the Tall Tale from the Mysterious Stranger in any tavern. You gotta start the quest, or those journals ain’t gonna show up, no matter how hard you squint.

My Journal Journey
-
Ancient Isles: I headed straight to the uncharted island at N13. My god this took me a bit to find at first. Once I found the underwater cave, finding the journal was easy. I followed the path, staying to the left, climbed a rock, and dove into a cave. I followed the cave to the end and found the journal.
-
The Shores of Plenty: This one was a bit of a pain. First I went to Cannon Cove and looked around the base of the cannon on top of the archway. Next I went to Smugglers’ Bay. I followed the left side of the bay, and I found the journal inside a barrel
-
The Wilds:This one was a pain in the neck. First I went to Boulder Cay. I searched around the center of the island, between the rock formations, and found the journal at the base of a tree. Next I went to Crook’s Hollow. I went to the cave, and I followed the path to the cave painting of the boar, there I found the journal on a barrel.
Wrapping it Up
Finally, with all five journals snagged, I headed back and completed the Tall Tale. It was a good feeling, let me tell you. Got my commendation, and a bit more lore under my belt. These journals give you some nice background on the Sea of Thieves, makes the whole world feel a bit more alive.
