Alright, guys, so I’ve been diving deep into F1 23 lately, and one track that’s always a beast is Saudi Arabia. Super fast, super unforgiving. I wanted to share my setup journey, ’cause it took some serious tweaking to get it right.
Initial Struggles
>

First time out, I was all over the place. I went in with a pretty standard setup, thinking it would be fine. Nope. Spun out at turn 2, like, three times in a row. The car felt way too loose, especially in those high-speed corners. The rear end just wanted to step out constantly. And don’t even get me started on the wall taps… I was collecting them like they were going out of style.
The Tuning Process
>
So, back to the garage I went. I knew I needed to calm the car down, make it more stable. Here’s what I did, step by step:
- Aerodynamics: First, I bumped up the rear wing. I figure more downforce in the back will help the car on those speedy turns.
- Transmission: I adjust it to make it suitable to me, and I feel comfortable.
- Suspension Geometry:This one was tricky. I played around with the camber and toe, trying to find that sweet spot between stability and responsiveness. after a lot of test, I made it.
- Suspension: I stiffened up the rear suspension a bit, too. Again, the goal was to keep that rear end planted.
- Brakes:I don’t want the car to over rotate. I also adjusted the brake bias slightly rearward, just to help with turn-in.
- Tyres: Reduced the tyre pressures a little. This was more about managing tyre wear over the race distance.
Testing and Refining
>
After each change, I’d hit the track for a few laps. I’d focus on how the car felt in specific corners, especially those fast, sweeping ones. Was it still stepping out? Was I able to get on the power earlier? It was a lot of back and forth, making tiny adjustments each time. I even did some long runs to see how the tires held up with the new setup.
The Final Result
>
Eventually, I got to a point where the car felt good. I could attack the corners with confidence, knowing the rear end wasn’t going to betray me. My lap times dropped significantly, and, most importantly, I was able to keep it out of the walls (mostly!). It’s still a challenging track, no doubt, but with this setup, it feels manageable. It feels fast.
This is my setup now. I am happy with it, I practiced many laps using this setup and I feel great with it.
