Okay, folks, let’s dive into something I messed around with today in Valorant – status effects. I’ve been trying to get a better handle on all the different buffs and debuffs, so I figured I’d spend some time in the practice range and really see what’s what.
First, I jumped into the practice range. I wanted a controlled environment where I could easily test things out without getting, you know, instantly headshot.

Experiment Time
I started by picking different agents, I first chose Phoenix to test the effects by myself.
- I used Phoenix’s Blaze wall. I walked through and checked the little burning icon.
- After that, use Hot Hands and stay there to see the healing effect icon.
I did the same thing to other agents, to check every status effect in the game, one by one.
Then, I started playing around with combinations. For example, I wanted to see what happened if a character was vulnerable and concussed. Does the damage stack? Do the effects overlap? This took a bit longer, because I had to use, for example, one agent use the skill, then change to other agent to use another skill on the same bot.
I kept a notepad open next to me and just started jotting down observations. Stuff like, “Okay, concussed makes the screen blurry and slows movement, got it.” Or, “Vulnerable definitely makes you take way more damage, yikes.” I write down everything I was doing at the same time.
My Findings (So Far)
I wouldn’t say I have a complete, scientific breakdown yet, but I definitely have a better feel for how these things work in practice.
I make it easy to read and check at any time, simple but efficient.
This was actually pretty fun. I think I’ll keep doing these little experiments and sharing what I find. Maybe next time I’ll focus on specific agent abilities. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
