Alright, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with “MLB The Show 23” and its archetypes. I’m no pro gamer, just a guy who likes to tinker and figure things out, so bear with me.
First, I fired up the game. Obviously. I wanted to get a good handle on the different player builds, you know, see what’s what. So, I went straight into creating a new player.

Exploring the Archetypes
The game throws a bunch of options at you, and honestly, it was a bit overwhelming at first. I spent a good chunk of time just poking around, reading descriptions, and trying to understand the basic differences. I’m a “learn by doing” kind of guy, so I started experimenting.
I created a few different players, just messing around with various archetypes, like that slugger type and that speedy contact hitter. I wanted to get a feel on the field.
I went to the internet for the correct list of archetypes,I can’t find any of websites, so I must do the experiment by my own.
My Experiment
- Started Several Players:Created several Road to the Show players.
- Experiment Archetypes:Tried out different archetypes for each.
- No List Found:Checked online, but couldn’t find a complete list.
- Noted Stats:Paid attention to how each archetype affected starting stats.
Realizations from My Playing
After all of this, I’ve realized that the “best” archetype really comes down to how you like to play. There is no best options!I just realized from my playing.
So, that’s my story. No magical list, just some good old-fashioned trial and error. I just keep my player growing, and you should try this too!
