Alright, guys, so I’ve been grinding away at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, trying to figure out which guns are actually worth using. I spent hours playing, swapping weapons, and getting my butt kicked, just to give you all the lowdown on the best and worst weapons in the game. It was a real struggle, but we all have to make these sacrifices for each other, right?
First, I jumped into a bunch of different game modes to get a feel for the guns. I played everything from Team Deathmatch to Domination, even tried some Ground War to see how things handled at longer ranges. I realized that some guns that felt amazing in close quarters were total garbage at a distance, and vice versa. It’s kind of a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t factor that in, seriously.

Then, I started taking notes on each gun. Yeah, I actually had a little notebook, and I wrote down stuff like recoil, damage, fire rate, and how easy they were to control. I even tried to count how quickly I could take someone down with each gun, which, trust me, is harder than it sounds when you’re getting shot at from every direction. This game is ruthless, to say the least.
After dying a gazillion times, I started to see some patterns. Some guns, like the M4, were just all-around solid. They’re good in pretty much any situation, easy to use, and they pack a punch. Other guns, like the Kastov-74u, were absolute beasts up close, but good luck hitting anything beyond spitting distance. It’s almost unfair how quickly you can destroy the competition with this gun in close combat.
My Personal Tier List
Here’s a quick rundown of my personal tier list, based on my suffering, I mean, my experience:
- S-Tier: These are the guns that I found myself reaching for over and over again. They’re reliable, powerful, and just generally awesome. Think M4, TAQ-56, and the FSS Hurricane. They were just unbeatable and super fun to use.
- A-Tier: These are still really good guns, but they might have a few drawbacks, or they’re just not quite as versatile as the S-Tier weapons. I’m talking about guns like the Kastov 762 and the Lachmann Sub. For the most part, you can still do well, but you need to be in the right situation.
- B-Tier: These are okay. They’re not terrible, but they’re not great either. You can use them if you want, but you’re probably going to have a harder time than if you were using an S-Tier or A-Tier gun. This is where guns like the STB 556 and the VEL 46 fall. I had a hard time getting kills with these consistently.
- C-Tier: I’d generally avoid these unless you’re really good or just trying to challenge yourself. They’re either too weak, too hard to control, or just don’t have anything special going for them. This is where I put guns like the M16 and the Rapp H. They were just so bad, I didn’t want to use them.
- D-Tier: Yeah, there are some guns that are just that bad. Honestly, I don’t even know why they’re in the game. Just stay away from these. They are basically worthless, and I couldn’t find a scenario where they were useful.
Remember, this is just my personal opinion based on my playstyle. You might have different experiences, and that’s totally cool. The important thing is to find what works for you and have fun. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try out different guns, even if they’re not on the “top tier” lists. You never know, you might find a hidden gem that everyone else is sleeping on.
This whole thing was a grind, but I hope it helps some of you out there. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go ice my thumbs. Keep gaming, and don’t be a noob!
